I also reminds me of how limited the impact has been of analytics in my professional life. What is it about the tools, technologies and processes we use in business analytics that are preventing me/us from delivering applications as powerful and ubiquitous as Google?
Staying on the subject of Google, here is an interesting way to look at the company:
As gigaom says: Google is an advertising company.
"Ask your friends what business Google is in and the answer you’ll most likely get is “search.” And they would be wrong. Google is, first and foremost, an advertising company."
