He links Xcelcius (SAP's dashboarding tool) to Explorer - their 'new' data mining tool. Good to see that the presentation screen shots gave away the path of the system as polestar (the products name a few years ago).
Also talked about an interesting Dutch startup with a mobile augmented reality service. Spannend (=exciting). SAP also has in their lab their own iPhone augment app.
iPhone and iPad get a mention. Very slick piece of eye-candy!
Second key theme is 'simple is not easy'.
StreamWork (SAP's workgroup product) is shown. I see this as a very niche product in Australia and widespread adoption may be a decade away. Timo's presentation is engaging and done very well. Has the name of the game changed for those of us working in large companies? No - the massive task of producing trusted insight remains. To do this is still all about using SAP's core Infoview product. On this point, I was interested to hear that Infoview and Microsoft's SharePoint are being tighter integrated. Potentially interesting for us in 'corporate BI'.
An Outlook 'relationship augmentation' extension looks to be interesting.A local Brisbane SAP lab product is Gavity - also extending StreamWork.
Looking forward to chairing the rest of the conference.
